Behavior Therapist Position Merrimack Autism Consultants is hiring part‑time Behavioral Therapists (BTs) to provide one‑on‑one, in‑home ABA services. We are currently seeking candidates in the Greater Boston areas of Watertown and Somerville. We welcome experienced Behavioral Therapists; however, prior experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided to help you build the skills needed to succeed in the role. In‑home sessions are typically scheduled between 2:00 PM and 8:30 PM, with some morning and weekend opportunities available. Applicants should be available to work an average of 10‑19 hours per week. Behavior Therapist Responsibilities Behavior Therapists work 1:1 directly with clients with autism using individualized ABA techniques created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Provides support and guidance for the parent/caregiver implementing the behavior plan tactics for when the BT/BCBA’s are not in the home. The Behavior Therapist will collect data focused on skills and behaviors, conduct discrete trials daily to ensure the client’s progress is monitored and objectives are met according to the individualized plan. Communicate in a timely manner any concerns, progress, etc. to both the client’s family and supervisor. Complete the 40‑hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training, sit for and pass the RBT exam within 90 days of hire. Compensation is competitive and based on education and experience. Ability to become a Registered Behavior Technician—an industry‑wide recognized certification under the BACB. Supplemental insurance: health, vision, dental, and life insurance. Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. 18 years old or older, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a background check. Authorized to work in the United States and able to commit to our clients for 6 months. Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children/adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities. CPR certified (can complete certification within 2 weeks of hire). Not Required But Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Human Services, Education or Psychology; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis or Social Psychology. Registered Behavior Technician with active certification from the BACB and/or at least six months of experience working with children with autism. Previous professional experience in human services, developmental disabilities, or education (e.g., teachers, paraprofessionals, day‑programs, group‑home caretakers).
