Senior Software Engineer – Real-Time Data Developer
One of the core objectives of the group is the development of data systems for data streaming and marketing activations. The optimal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on development experience with an excellent technical background:
Core Responsibilities:
- Developing and architecting real-time data integrations: defining APIs, building highly reliable processes, processing large volumes of data performantly, and working with AWS technologies.
- Understand the data being delivered, its uses, and applications.
- Partner with our business users to understand their requirements and interactions with the data platform to ensure quality products and smooth day-to-day operation.
- Own the full scope of the assigned projects, including liaising with the business to gather requirements, designing the solution, and building and delivering completed functionality to production.
Required Technical Experiences:
- Has 7+ years of experience in Java development
- Strong development experience in Java Spring Framework
- Strong AWS Development experience using these services (API Gateway, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, EC2)
- Good experience with Rest API development / Microservice architecture
- Good experience building reusable frameworks
- Experience with caching systems, in-memory data stores
- Experience with source control GIT or SVN or TFS for code check-in/Check-out and CI/CD knowledge
- Experience in Agile Methodology using SCRUM or Kanban
- Analytical skills – Ability to troubleshoot and logically assess problems and determine solutions
- Documentation skills – ability to represent ideas, requirements, and problems in clear and concise documents
- A love of data, data munging, and care about building the right abstractions
Additional (Plus) Technical Experiences:
- Experience in Python development
- Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting
- Experience in a Google cloud platform (GCP)
Additional (Plus) Work experiences:
- Working experience with Customer Data Platforms and MDM such as Segment, Tealium, Redpoint Global, Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce C360, and Interaction Studio, Microsoft D365 Customer Insights, Oracle CX Unity, Reltio, Lytics, Amperity or ActionIQ.
Required Skills: real time, java, heavy cloud experience (either AWS or Azure), Lambda functions, and MUST live in EST or CST time zone. This is a contract to hire also.
