Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 3+ years of ICU experience with strong neuro patient proficiency and at least one year of travel nursing experience.

Details

• ICU setting with a high volume of neurological patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends as unit need dictates
• On-call required as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick Campus, with as little as 1.5 hours notice (shuttle provided for inter-campus floating)
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of RN ICU experience required
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with neuro ICU patient population required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care, TBI, and spinal cord injury
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care required
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and arterial line management required
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Care for complex ICU patients including those with multisystem organ dysfunction, cardiac dysrhythmias, and neurological emergencies
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration at the local rate
• Returning travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before being eligible to return
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• Re-orientation required only if separated 6+ months since last shift at this facility and prior orientation was completed there
