Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Summary:
Seeking a dedicated RN for the PACU at a busy medical center, responsible for providing pre- and post-operative care in a fast-paced setting. This role involves working a consistent schedule with on-call duties, ensuring safe patient recovery and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality pre-op and post-op care to surgical patients, including IV starts, Foley insertions, and EKG monitoring.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech, adhering to unit policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout recovery.
• Demonstrate proficiency with equipment such as bladder scanners, vein finders, and EKG machines.
• Follow safety protocols, including certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, to respond to emergencies effectively.
• Participate in on-base training to complete post-operative competency requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent pre- and post-operative nursing experience.
• Demonstrate clinical competency in pediatric and neuro post-operative care.
• Have valid nursing license to practice in the state.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Be adaptable to floating within surgical services as needed.
