A better future?Job DescriptionAs a member of the team, the Project Launch Manager will be responsible for the management and execution of plant infrastructure and capital equipment installation readiness plan, problem solving launch risks and execution risks at the manufacturing plant, and providing plant feedback on change management, launch risks, and execution risks to the platform team with business cases developed to solve these risks.This person will be based in Southfield, MI, for approximately two years pending the launch of the new Detroit facility.ResponsibilitiesYour work will be manufacturing plant-focused, and include, but not be limited to:Own end to end program lifecycle from customer award through launch and post SOP supportCo-develop and maintain program plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registersLead the plant team including engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing, and financeServe as the primary plant interface to the customer for program status, escalation, and deliverablesLead production launch planning, including plant readiness and infrastructure, tooling, capacity, and ramp up while meeting all timing milestones within Project fileCoordinate pilot builds, PPAP, View email address on click.appcast.io events, and launch metricsTransition program leadership from development site to plant during launch phaseDrive launch issue resolution using structured problem solving and escalation where neededSupport system level trade offs between performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliabilitySupport Platform Manager with program financials, including investment tracking, prototype build expenses, and plant infrastructure expenses and ensure budget adherenceLead change management assessments and implementation for the plant teamSupport platform team as needed with contract compliance and commercial discussions Proactively identify, manage, and escalate technical, schedule, financial, and launch risksEnsure adherence to APQP and IATF requirementsDrive lessons learned and continuous improvement across launchesEducation RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related fieldExperience Requirements8-10 years of program or project management experience, or manufacturing experience in automotive, preferably electronicsExperience launching automotive programsStrong understanding of:Automotive development lifecycles (APQP, PPAP, EPC)Manufacturing launch processesCross functional team leadershipProven ability to manage complex programsWillingness to transition work location from Southfield to Detroit during launch phasePreferred Requirements Experience with power distribution modules, high current electronics, or EV architecturesExposure to liquid cooled electronic systemsWorking knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safetyOEM customer facing experience (GM, Ford, Stellantis, etc.)PMP or equivalent project management certificationExperience working with global teams and suppliersExperience launching electronic control units (ECUs) or power electronicsEqual Opportunity EmployerLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit‑based employment practices and equal opportunity.We provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
