This position is eligible for the following benefits: medical vision dental basic and supplemental life winter break closure paid holidays educational benefits for you and eligible dependents sick leave vacation retirement Posting Number 2016524T Job Description Summary Department Summary This position provides physical therapy evaluation and treatment to outpatient orthopedic patients at OhioHealth O’Bleness hospital with an emphasis on vestibular rehabilitation, per the contract with Ohio University Therapy Associates. Intermittent inpatient coverage at the hospital will also be a job duty. Performs evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal deficits and impairments of all ages. The incumbent will formulate a treatment plan and recommendations based on his/her assessment. Supervises physical therapy assistants, including directing treatment plans, establishing goals and co-signing all their documentation. Supervises students, volunteers and other support staff in the clinic setting. The incumbent will serve as a clinical instructor for graduate students in the clinic setting. Attend staff meetings, participate in marketing calls to promote services and provide education to potential referral sources and other duties as assigned by the Director. Position Profile Provides physical therapy to patients to restore physical functions following a disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Works with patients adjusting to a disability to help them achieve maximum physical performance. Studies, evaluates, and records physical therapy activities and progress. Educates patients on best practices to restore physical functioning. Level Summary Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams. Supervisory Responsibilities May assist in mentoring or training new employees. Fiscal Responsibilities No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions. Problem Solving Handles a variety of problems with some independence. Independence of Action Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks. Communication and Collaboration Collaborates with team members and shares knowledge. Physical Requirements The position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and travel. Candidates must possess strong communication, auditory, and visual skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, or pull between 20 and 50 pounds. The role may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. Minimum Qualifications Must possess and maintain all licensure and certification credentials required by the State of Ohio for practice as a Physical Therapist. Requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy ( DPT ) degree; no related professional experience required. Applicants certified with a Master’s degree must have 1 or more years of related professional experience. Applicants certified with a Bachelor’s degree must have 3 or more years of related professional experience. License or license eligible to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Ohio. Preferred Qualifications Experience in outpatient orthopedic and vestibular rehabilitation. Department Physical Therapy Pay Rate Commensurate with experience. Minimum $68,299.
