Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients. The RN will perform labor assessments, fetal monitoring, medication administration, newborn stabilization, postpartum care, and assist with both routine and emergency deliveries while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage obstetric patients over 20 weeks gestation using obstetric triage acuity tools.
• Perform labor assessments, fetal monitoring, and provide care throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Misoprostol, Methergine, Hemabate, Terbutaline, Labetalol, Nifedipine, Hydralazine, and Insulin .
• Prepare patients for vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including emergency C-sections.
• Provide postpartum care for mothers following vaginal and cesarean births.
• Perform newborn assessments, administer newborn medications, assist with IV starts, hearing screens, lab draws, phototherapy, hypoglycemia management, and stabilization of critically ill newborns.
• Document patient care accurately and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Float to departments or facilities within a 20-mile radius as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of current Labor & Delivery experience .
• New Mexico RN License or Compact RN License .
• BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required.
• BLS must be through AHA, ARC, or ASHI .
• Must successfully pass the Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of assignment.
• Epic experience preferred .
• STABLE certification preferred .
