Autonomous Vehicle TechnicianThe Autonomous Vehicle Technician maintains and repairs electric autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability. Key tasks include diagnosing issues, performing inspections, documenting repairs, and collaborating with teammates. The role requires automotive experience, with electric vehicle knowledge preferred, and adherence to safety and quality standards.Responsibilities:Performing maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.Inspecting and performing initial vehicle set up for autonomous fleet operation and testing.Collaborating with and working alongside AutoNation and our Autonomous Vehicle partner associates, and partnering with teammates to improve processes and expedite workflow.Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.Performing high quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.Conducting multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.Provide guidance to technician team, and effectively communicate with Associates regarding required service and parts needs.Performing all repairs according to work instructions and documenting results.Operating all equipment in the Service Center in a safe and productive manner, following AutoNation's Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working on the production floor.Inspecting and testing all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed.Maintaining an inventory of Technician's tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department.Keeping abreast of technical information and participating in offered training classes as appropriate.Understanding and following federal, state, and local regulations that affect Service Center operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA guidelines, etc.Gaining superior product knowledge to provide high quality repairs.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.Two + years' automotive experience.Electric Vehicle experience, a plus.Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.Automotive technical training.Must have a valid, in-state driver's license with an acceptable, safe driving record.Ability to operate an automobile.Exciting Benefits and Perks Await You:Competitive compensation and 401k matching.Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with insurance plans (health, dental, vision) and maternity benefits.Associate purchase and discount programs for new and pre-owned vehicles, services, parts, collision, accessories, and AutoGear.Access amazing deals and discounts through YouDecide, a website with offers from top providers and retailers.Join our DRVPNK mission to raise and donate millions of dollars to cancer research and treatment, partnering with cancer charities nationwide.AutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive solutions, empowering our customers to make the best decisions for their needs.
