Successful candidates will receive diversified training through on-the-job assignments using the technical skills acquired in college. Assigned projects will develop the interns both technically and professionally. Each intern will be assigned a technical mentor and supervisor to ensure a productive and engaging assignment.Interns are typically matched to one of the Upstream fields including Reservoir, Production, Facilities, Drilling, Completions, Projects, or. Within that field, the intern will be responsible for completing one or more projects during the summer. As an example, past projects have included developing improved forecasting techniques for unconventional reservoirs, artificial lift optimization, facility design modifications to improve air quality, drill bit design/selection, sand production mitigation, and infrastructure benchmarking. The intern will work within established engineering and/or operations teams.The Engineering internship assignment locations will vary based on Phase 1 and Phase 2 internships.Phase 1 Internships are for students with two or more summers remaining before graduation. Assignment locations include Kenedy, Texas; Midland, Texas; Dickinson, North Dakota; or Anchorage, AlaskaPhase 2 Internships are for students with one summer remaining before graduation. Assignment locations include Kenedy, TX; Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; Dickinson, ND; or Anchorage, AlaskaThe 2027 summer internship program will be 10 - 12 continuous weeks.Position OverviewBasic/Required:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institutionPursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or foreign equivalentCurrent level in college: Sophomore through Senior or Graduate StudentExpected graduation date: Fall 2027 through Spring/Fall 2029Available for internship start mid-late May 2027A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internshipPreferred:Willing to work in either of these locations: Houston, Texas; Kenedy, Texas; Midland, Texas; Dickinson, North Dakota; or Anchorage, AlaskaA minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scalePrevious internships or co-ops in an energy related fieldProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteBuilds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goalsTakes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's rightUnderstands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the businessAll interested candidates must complete an online application at the ConocoPhillips Careers website to be considered for an interview.
