Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

RN Emergency Room provides high-acuity nursing care to patients presenting with emergency needs. The role assesses, stabilizes, and supports timely diagnosis and treatment while coordinating effectively with the care team.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition promptly using prioritized nursing judgment and vital sign trends.
• Stabilize patients by initiating emergency nursing interventions within scope of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document responses accurately.
• Manage time-sensitive care by collaborating with physicians, paramedics, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Maintain infection control standards and uphold patient safety protocols at all times.
• Coordinate care transitions by preparing patients for further evaluation, admission, or discharge.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in good standing.
• Demonstrate strong emergency nursing assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Possess proficiency with telemetry and routine emergency-room documentation practices.
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or required based on policy.
• Exhibit the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate willingness to float to other departments as needed while maintaining safe practice.
