DESCRIPTION:

AKE Safety Equipment is a locally owned small to mid-sized manufacturing and sales driven company.  We operate on a national scale, targeting customers who farm and reside in agriculturally productive areas of the U.S.  Our Customer Service & Inside Sales Coordinator will be the department lead responsible for communicating with our regionally based sales representatives and customers. This role requires creativity, quick adaptation to change and has the ability to keep the success and forward movement of the business as the ultimate top priority.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide information and support to customers and sales representatives nationwide via phone and email correspondence.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist walk-in customers with questions, product inquiries, and issue resolution.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships through timely and professional communication.
• Generate new business opportunities through outbound customer outreach and follow-up on sales leads.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Support the sales team by preparing quotes, processing orders, and assisting with customer follow-up activities.
• Assist customers with product registrations, refills, direct sales orders, payments, and shipping inquiries.
• Collaborate with sales representatives to support customer retention and revenue growth initiatives.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and coordinate with internal departments to ensure prompt resolution.
• Work efficiently across multiple software platforms, including CRM, accounting, and order management systems.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and databases.
• Track and document customer interactions, sales opportunities, and follow-up actions in Salesforce.
• Contribute ideas that improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sales performance.
• Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the Customer Service Manager in departmental functions and special projects as needed.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proven interpersonal skills with an outgoing, patient, and professional attitude.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Sales aptitude with the ability to identify opportunities and confidently discuss products and services.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications and the ability to work across integrated systems.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively suggest solutions.
• Excellent independent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and Salesforce (CRM).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment that emphasizes accuracy and timeliness.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of customer service, inside sales, sales support, or related experience.
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial and sales-focused environment.
• Experience using CRM systems to manage customer accounts and sales activities.
