Our client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their team! The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and providing financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and experience working with accounting software and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transaction Recording
- Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Accurately classify and assign transactions to the appropriate accounts.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date ledgers and journals.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with collections efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies as needed.
Bank Reconciliation
- Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Compare internal financial records to bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure financial records remain accurate and audit-ready.
Payroll Processing
- Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Maintain payroll records and support payroll-related inquiries.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide financial information to management and external auditors as required.
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
- Assist leadership with budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Monitor expenditures and compare actual results to budget forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of GAAP principles.
- Experience supporting audits and financial reviews.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
