Position Summary
We are seeking a Buyer II to manage purchasing activities and work with suppliers to ensure materials and services are obtained at the right price, quality, and delivery time.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase materials, products, and services based on business needs.
- Request and review supplier quotes.
- Research and evaluate potential vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability.
- Create and manage purchase orders.
- Track orders and follow up on delays or issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing information in the ERP system.
- Work with Quality, Accounting, and other departments to resolve purchasing issues.
- Provide updates on open and upcoming orders.
- Assist with vendor and supply chain activities.
- Participate in meetings, training, and other purchasing projects.
Requirements
- 2+ years of purchasing or buying experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’ s Degree preferred.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based.
- May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional vendor visits may be required.
