Floating MRI Tech

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and manager of radiology. Under general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Shift: M-F 5x8's (12:30p - 9p), will consider 4x10's (10:30a - 9p) and/or 3x12's (8:30a - 9p). Will work as an In-House MRI Tech at the West Ashley location and a Mobile MRI Tech at the North Charleston Location. Will go to North Charleston location 1 to 2 times a week.

Weekend Requirement: Saturdays 8a-4p, the traveler works 5x8s (12:30a-9pm M-F), equaling 40 hours on the weeks they don't work Saturdays, and on the weeks that they do work Saturdays they will work (4) 8-hour shifts (12:30a -9pm) M-F and an 8-hour (8a-4p) shift on Saturday equaling 40 hours. Holiday Requirement: n/a Call Requirement (Y/N)?: No Float Requirement: Will float between West Ashely and North Charleston. Will go to North Charleston 1 to 2 times a week and will work as a Mobile MRI Tech at that location.

Required/Preferred Years of experience REQ: 2+ years of MRI experience First-timers accepted: Yes Cert/License REQ: BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Certification/Licenses accepted: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT – state license is NOT required Radiation Badge REQ: Yes. Radiation badge MUST be provided by agency; MUSC does NOT provide radiation badges to travelers Skills Required: General MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac. Equipment Experience REQ: Siemens Equipment Experience PREF: Sectra, Epic Miscellaneous Radius rule? Yes, 60 miles. Are locals accepted? Yes, on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a NEW or EXT assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
