Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Strong orthopedic experience Total Joint Replacement experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical and Orthopedics. The nurse will work a 12-hour day shift from Friday to Sunday, with holidays as needed. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit has a total capacity of 22 beds. The nurse will primarily care for patients with orthopedic conditions, including joints, replacements, and fractures. There are Nurse Aides available on the unit with a support ratio of 3 CNA's per shift. The nurse will not be responsible for reading telemetry strips. A charge nurse is present on the unit 24/7 to provide support. The scheduling requires working every other weekend, with expectations for holiday rotation. Traveling nurses may need to float to other units as necessary. The dress code for nurses is royal blue. Experience with equipment such as CPAP and Bipap may be required as needed. Charting will be performed using an electronic health record system.
