Direct Support Professional (CNA/DSP) - Aurora, Illinois (56406)

Job Details: Entry level, Full‑Time, 3rd Shift, located for all CILA 440 – Aurora, IL. Salary: $19.50 per hour with $2.00 differential for 6–12a.m. to 6–12p.m. hours. Sign‑on bonus: $1,000. Responsibilities Implement clients’ Individualized Plans and strategies under the direction of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, documenting all services provided. Assist clients with recreation, leisure, activities of daily living, and behavioral support, including verbal and physical aggression, self‑injurious behavior, property destruction, and elopement. Provide intensive care such as toileting, bathing, enteral feeding, and special diets as required. Maintain a clean, safe environment inside and outside client homes; report safety concerns and coordinate non‑urgent repairs. Administer medication in at least one location, maintain authorization, complete annual training, and minimize medication errors. Plan and prepare meals following dietician‑approved menus and recipes, respecting client preferences and dietary restrictions. Assist clients with personal care, including toileting, changing garments, grooming, and cleaning adaptive equipment. Provide transportation to work, appointments, and social events in personal or agency vehicles. Communicate client medical status during appointments and monitor health conditions. Attend all scheduled shifts, meetings, trainings, and participate in orientation and training of new staff. Engage clients in community and in‑house activities, facilitate Home and Community Based Settings Rules training, and document participation. Work independently to cover safety and supervision of all clients at assigned locations. Maintain required documentation for licensing and program requirements. Stay familiar with agency policies, regulations (CARF, DMH, DHS, DPH, etc.) and report issues promptly. Other duties as reasonably requested by supervisors within the scope of the role. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Autism Certificate. Experience working with developmentally disabled adults is preferred. Physical ability to climb stairs, lift or move up to 50lb, push/pull, and perform daily housekeeping tasks. Full knowledge of behavior support strategies and emergency response. Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Illinois driver’s license, and meet IDOT approved driver status. Must be able to drive clients in personal vehicle and have requisite liability insurance. Pass S‑TOFHLA literacy test, complete DSP and Medication Administration Training (CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, OIG Rule50, CPI), and maintain certification for enteral nutrition tasks.
