Baptist Search Partners is excited to partner with Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, TX, to find their next Next Gen Pastor.

Mims Baptist Church is seeking a long-term Next Gen Pastor who will have direct leadership over the Student Ministry, overseeing the Preschool and Kids ministries, and build a healthy, thriving Next Gen ministry from an already strong foundation. As the ministry grows, there is the potential for the team to grow with it, adding specialists such as a Middle School Pastor and a High School Pastor under his leadership.

The Next Gen Pastor will step into a ministry with a fresh spirit and a healthy volunteer team. The support is in place, the vision is clear, and the runway is long. Mims is looking for a leader who is content to invest long term in Next Gen ministry. This is a self-starter who anticipates needs, executes with excellence, and builds a team that will minister to families and students. The pastor and church leadership are committed to setting this candidate up to win.

Mims Baptist Church is a growing, multi-generational Southern Baptist congregation in Conroe, Texas, with approximately 1,300 in worship and more than 900 in Sunday School each week. The church operates on a $4.13M annual budget growing 9–11% year over year, with roughly $200,000 dedicated to Next Gen ministry. Mims is committed to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and is seeking a leader with a heart to reach students and families with the gospel.

The culture at Mims is one of family. Leadership is built around high trust, open communication, and unified vision. The Student Ministry itself is healthy, 100–110 students on Wednesday nights, 85–100 in Sunday Life Groups, and 35 student baptisms in the past year, and ready for a next season of growth.

1. Lead the Next Gen Vision

• Partner with the Senior Pastor and Ministries Pastor to develop and execute a long-term Next Gen strategy that aligns with the mission and discipleship pathway of Mims Baptist Church.
• Build a scalable Next Gen ministry that grows with the church and the community, from preschool through Student Ministry.

2. Develop the Next Gen Team

• Lead, coach, and develop three direct reports—Preschool, Kids, and Students.
• As the ministry scales, build out the team by adding specialists (such as a Middle School Pastor and a High School Pastor) under his leadership.

3. Strengthen the Student Ministry

• Build on a healthy Wednesday and Sunday Life Group foundation, transitioning current interim leadership into a sustainable long-term model.
• Establish clear discipleship pathways that move students from awareness to engagement to spiritual multiplication.

4. Engage Families and the Community

• Build strong relationships with parents, equipping and partnering with them in the discipleship of their children.
• Cultivate presence and partnerships with local schools in one of the fastest-growing counties in the country.

5. Champion a Next Gen Culture

• Communicate the vision, wins, and calling of Next Gen ministry consistently across the church.
• Inspire a culture in which the next generation is a shared priority for the whole church family, not a siloed ministry.
