Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Thriving Center of Psychology is adding Licensed Mental Health Counselors to our New York practice. The schedule runs four days in our Midtown and Soho offices and one day from home. You are employed, not contracted, with a salary and benefits attached.

An active New York LMHC licence is required. Diagnostic privilege preferred. We are unable to accept candidates still working toward licensure at this time.

What you will do:

• See adults individually, in the office and over video.
• Work anxiety, mood, life transitions, identity and stress that has stopped being manageable.
• Hold a clear theoretical frame and be able to defend it in consultation. Technique without formulation does not go far here.
• Where diagnostic privilege applies, carry diagnostic responsibility for your own clients.
• Write notes inside our turnaround window.
• Bring cases to weekly group consultation and contribute to your colleagues' cases.

• A salary of $80,000 to $105,000 per year, plus a performance bonus opportunity.

Qualifications:

• Active, clear New York LMHC license (diagnostic privilege, preferred)
• Master's degree in mental health counseling or a closely related field.
• At least one year of independent outpatient counseling with adults.
• Available for a 40 hour week, working toward 27 sessions.
• Comfortable holding a full adult caseload.
• Experience delivering counseling both in person and by telehealth.
