- CustodianLegal Address - Benefits Access & Admin - Brooklyn, NY 11233## OverviewSalary Range$18.00 - $18.00 HourlyEducation LevelHigh School/GED## DescriptionThe Custodian will keep office and public facilities clean and in good condition, Custodial duties and responsibilities include general cleaning and maintenance, event setup and clean up, and restocking supplies. The ideal candidate will work both indoors and outdoors to maintain the upkeep of all TCAH locations. The candidate will also work to assist in our pantry.Responsibilities* Cleans and keeps up various surfaces and material within a building or space* Sweeps and mops floors* Washes windows and cleans shades* Cleans and disinfects toilets and replenishes supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels* Responds to urgent situations, such as spills, that require quick action* Orders cleaning supplies and equipment and maintains an appropriate stock at all times* Mixes liquids and solvents from basic materials to create effective cleaning supplies* Operates and maintains equipment such as vacuums and floor cleaners* Collects and removes trash from the offices, warehouses or any TCAH space* Notifies supervisor when major repairs, including structural issues or highly skilled tasks, are required* Advise supervisor or maintenance of heat or cooling systems problems.* Maintains a level of security in a building, such as locking doors and securing keys* Performs outdoor upkeep as necessary, including sweeping sidewalk, walkways and shoveling snow* Required to work when facilities are closed to the public or for any event## Qualifications• Passionate about the organizational mission to eliminate hunger and advance food justice • 1 years janitorial experience • A self-starter with the ability to work as a team player and foster cooperative work • Ability to create, develop and maintain relationships with participants, partner agencies and other staff • Proactive, flexible and takes initiate independently • Good oral communication skills required
