About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 5 years RN experience, including experience in a cardiac telemetry department License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry RN Stepdown/PCU experience Experience with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, preop/post op open heart, cardiac IV and PO, cardiac drips, anticoagulants, CHF, CP, arythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post op CABG, Sepsis, PNA, Stroke, observation patients, use of TR band, groin management, and familiarity with complications Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care while managing a group of patients. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and administers medications safely. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model. The RN engages in professional development and continues education, completing all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides support for new employees and students. The RN follows all organizational values and performs other duties as assigned.
