Design Engineer

Job Overview An energy technology company is hiring a Design Engineer to lead structural analysis and new nuclear plant projects. This team leadership role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of Gas Turbine industry experience to lead a team in managing, substantiating, and executing critical engineering drawing changes, providing technical support, ensuring process compliance, and driving design/manufacturing improvements, utilizing skills in leadership. This is a 12 months contract. It is 100% remote work. Location Greenville, South Carolina Job Type Contract Salary $48.62 - 53.62 per hour Work Hours 8am to 5pm Education Bachelors Responsibilities Lead a team in the successful management, substantiation, and execution of critical engineering drawing changes and tasks. Provide technical support for the team's activities. Ensure all tasks are completed expeditiously and to a high-quality standard. Direct and guide the team through the review and implementation of tasks based on business requirements. Provide expeditious technical and project management support and troubleshooting for engineering drawing changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful task completion. Apply knowledge of design and manufacturing to implement process improvements and/or new ideas. Enhance overall function and quality of parts, reduce cost, and reduce manufacturing defects. Skills Proven experience demonstrating strong leadership, project management, teamwork and communication skills, as well as a passion for quality and continuous improvement. Proficiency with PLM, Ansys, NX/UG and Microsoft Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
