PET and CT Technologist

Job Overview RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. You will operate assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images, serving patients with a patient‑centered approach and excellent customer service. This is a part‑time position working between 30–39 hours per week on rotating day shifts Monday through Saturday. Responsibilities Patient PET/CT Imaging (90%) Screen patients before exam for precautions or contradictions and use two patient identifiers. Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures and position them appropriately. Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision while support patients throughout the procedure. Adjust scan parameters correctly and use dose‑reduction techniques as needed. Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, referring patients, and colleagues. Follow physicians' orders and safety regulations. Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Keep the work area orderly and clean, promoting safety. Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements and keep equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use. Ensure HIPAA compliance. Assess, prepare, record, and administer radiopharmaceuticals per NRC and state regulations. Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously. Demonstrate safety‑related work behaviors and report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer. PET/CT Department Support (5%) Assist with updating the imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as needed. Assist with training new associates and provide technical expertise as applicable. Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to meet ACR and AOA guidelines. Conduct daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC/state regulations. Other Tasks (5%) – Completes additional tasks as assigned. Requirements NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing. Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable. Current CPR certification. Training and experience sufficient to perform PET/CT procedures independently. Certification in imaging specialty. Preferred Bilingual. ARRT certification in CT. NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
