Quality Assurance Technician

Our client, a major food manufacturing company, is seeking Quality Assurance Technicians to join their team in Sikeston, MO. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for the following: measuring, testing, interpreting and keeping records of data necessary to assist in the production of safe products that meet the company’s specifications. The ideal candidate will have communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician Location: Sikeston, MO Pay Range: $20.00/hr. Shifts available: Day and Night Shifts: 6am – 6pm or 6pm – 6am What’s the Job? Gather samples and perform any required analyses. Interpret and record results accurately and in a timely manner. Audit various processes within the plant for compliance to standards. Prepare and maintain necessary reagents and solutions to complete analyses. Conduct SPC capability studies and calculate targets/limits for control charts. Maintain and file necessary records. PC data entry and reporting utilizing the following programs: dBase IV Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook Provide data to other departments as needed. Maintain work area in acceptable condition at all times. Maintain attention to quality issues on all lines. Work cooperatively with other technicians to evenly share the workload. Other duties as assigned. What is Needed? High School diploma or equivalent GED. Ability to read and follow written procedures. Basic understanding of GMP’s. Comprehension of basic mathematical concepts including algebra. Ability to learn required tests and procedures within a reasonable period of time, including PC applications. The ability to communicate with others, and the desire and willingness to work closely within a small group of individuals. Ability to navigate and use web-based/digital programs. Two or four-year degree in Food Science or other related field preferred (not required). Previous experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance preferred (not required). Working Environment: Variable and fast pace, consisting of the office environment, the laboratory, and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment, bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and sanitary footwear. What’s in it for me?
