Title: Maintenance Technician Specialist

Location: Manteno, IL

**Shift: **First Shift

**Salary: **Starting at $42/hr

This is a direct hire opportunity with a $2,500.00 sign on bonus!

Be the maintenance expert who keeps production moving and helps your team work safely, consistently, and at a high standard. In this role, you’ll troubleshoot advanced mechanical and electrical systems, strengthen asset reliability, and mentor technicians to follow best practices. You’ll also ensure every maintenance activity supports critical food-safety requirements (GMP, HACCP, SQF), while contributing to maintenance planning, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement that drives long-term operational performance.

• Lead and performpreventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance (CBM) onproduction and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshootmechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, guiding others throughsystematic fault isolationandroot cause analysis.
• Performprecision maintenance, includinglaser alignment,torque-to-spec,balancing, andlubrication best practices.
• UseCMMStoplan and close work orderswith accuratelabor, parts, and failure codes, improving job plans andBOMsover time.
• Supportfood safety and sanitationrequirements, includingGMP,allergen control,hygienic design, and coordination forCIP/COPactivities —while protectingCCPs/Preventive Controlsduring maintenance.
• Partner withProduction, QA, and Sanitationduring downtime events, communicating equipment status and corrective actions.
• Mentor techniciansby reinforcing safety, quality, and documentation standards; coordinatecontractorswhen needed.
• Contribute toTPM/RCM/CIinitiatives to reduce chronic losses and improveMTBF/MTTR, optimizing PM/CBM routes.
• Performother duties as assignedby management.

• **3+ years **of industrial maintenance experience (food/beverage/CPG preferred).
• Strongmechanical and/or electrical troubleshootingskills, with the ability toread prints and schematics.
• Experience withVFDs, sensors, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics/hydraulics, andbasic PLC fault-finding(I/O and alarms—no programming required).
• SolidCMMSexperience and a commitment tohigh-quality work order documentation.
• Knowledge ofGMP, HACCP, SQF/BRCGS,allergen control, andsanitary design basics.
• Safety-first mindset:LOTO,PPE, and leadingrisk assessments.

• Technical degree,trade certification, or advanced training (e.g.,mechatronicsor industrial maintenance).
• Predictive technologies experience (e.g.,vibration,thermography,ultrasound,oil analysis).
• Experience withCIP systems, steam/boiler components, compressed air, or refrigeration.
• OSHA 10/30,NFPA 70Eawareness, forklift/aerial lift certifications, welding/fabrication experience.
