Career Consultant

Career Services PositionCareer Consultants in Walton Career Connections provide guidance, coaching, programming, and education to Walton students through consulting, collaboration with employers, and identification of industry trends. Career Consultants will be responsible for managing a portfolio of undergraduate and graduate students, collaborating with team and academic departments regarding programming, and tracking outcomes. In coordination with the Senior Director for Career Services, the Career Consultants will develop strategies to grow opportunities for students in diverse industries and locations, ensuring alignment with academic and career goals. Must be able to provide in-person support of programming/events during office hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, and occasional evenings and weekends, less than 10 evenings or weekends a semester. Regular, non-disruptive, and in-person, reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human resources, or related field from an accredited institution of higher educationAt least two years of professional work experience that includes recruiting or career development for corporate functions (such as finance, accounting, marketing, sales, operations, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), etc.) or relevant recruiting experience for corporate clients in related functional areasExperience with business education (specifically within Accounting and Finance; Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management and CPG; Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship; Economics and Information Systems; and MBA and Specialty Master's Programs)Experience with resume writing, interviewing and job search skillsExperience with web-based resources, spreadsheet and presentation software required (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in business, marketing, human resources or related field from an accredited institution of higher educationExperience with pivot tables in Excel for data analysisExperience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas) and/or Career Services platforms (e.g., Handshake, etc.)Experience working with students in a higher education environmentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of project managementKnowledge of job search and process managementDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with students, alumni, and recruitersExcellent oral and written communicationsAbility to develop effective presentations and speak confidently to large audiencesAbility to coach and motivate othersAbility to build rapport quickly, to listen actively, to adapt to changing situationsSalary Information: $63,000Required Documents to Apply: Cover Letter/Letter of Application, List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), ResumeOptional Documents: Proof of Veteran StatusAll application materials must be uploaded to the University of Arkansas System Career Site Instructions to Applicants:Pre-employment Screening RequirementsCriminal Background Check, Sex Offender RegistryThe University of Arkansas is committed to providing a safe campus community.
