Position Overview

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support students with instructional, behavioral, and personal care needs for the 2026-2027 school year. PCAs work under the supervision of the special education department , classroom teacher, and/or designated school staff to ensure students receive the support necessary to access their educational program.

This role is essential in helping students remain safe, engaged, and successful throughout the school day. PCAs may also assist with physical mobility, therapeutic care tasks, and other supports outlined by a licensed health or rehabilitation professional.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to students as directed by the special education team.
  
  
• Assist with personal care needs , including mobility support, prompting, supervision, and therapeutic activities.
  
  
• Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and instructional activities under teacher guidance.
  
  
• Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive presence during challenging moments.
  
  
• Follow all student-specific plans created by teachers, therapists, and health professionals.
  
  
• Communicate observations and concerns to the supervising teacher or special education staff.
  
  
• Support a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
