CT Technologist II

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist II for the night shift, full time. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30p to 7a overnight. The role involves providing quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities include:

• Exercising professional judgment in performance of services and maintaining a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Delivering appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Complying with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adhering to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Assessing the patient's physical condition and age specific needs.
• Providing instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performing proper patient identification, acquiring patient's clinical history, and assuring that the information is accurately documented.
• Positioning patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulating technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
• Assessing diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Applying principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehending and complying with Quality Control standards and participating in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrating proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Performing venipuncture and evaluating IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Administering medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Applying appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Assisting in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilizing all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensuring the safety of all customers.
• Maintaining reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Maintaining well-stocked and organized work areas.
• Providing patient transport.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of either: an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Mandatory minimum of two (2) years' CT experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging; site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training; dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
• Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
• Current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT).
