Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, NIH Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Cardiac telemetry management - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Experience in intravenous and blood product administration Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care on a telemetry unit. The average daily census is 29 patients. The unit has 30 beds. The RN will manage patients with various conditions including sepsis, CHF, and cardiac arrhythmias. The nurse will utilize rapid response and code teams as needed. The role includes performing feeding tube care and management. The RN will administer blood products and manage central lines. Skills in starting and maintaining IVs and managing cardiac drips without titration are essential. The nurse will care for patients undergoing total joint replacements and handle post-operative care. The RN will provide oxygen administration and tracheostomy care. Experience with wound care and isolation precautions is required. Floating to other units may be required based on facility needs. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Weekend coverage is mandatory with 4-6 shifts every 6 weeks. Telemetry experience and the ability to manage cardiac patients are critical for this position. The RN will use EPIC for charting and documentation. Additional skills in managing high flow nasal cannula and other respiratory treatments are preferred.
