Job DetailsJob Description SummaryThis Per Diem position would provide coverage for both our Washington Township and Cherry Hill locations. Hours are operation vary between 7a and 5p. Weekday coverage needed as well as one Saturday a month.Job DescriptionThe Mammography Technologist performs mammography exams, screenings and diagnostic studies, andassists during invasive procedures. Via these procedures and under the direction of the physician, theMammography Tech detects breast tissue abnormalities and presents them to the physician fordiagnosis. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.Essential FunctionsInteracts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography-related examinations toproduce radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposesEnsures successful procedure by ensuring appropriate patient and breast position, instructingpatient throughout the procedure, and adjusting compression mechanisms and equipment controlsto set exposure factors.Provides staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.Obtains complete and accurate history and delivers care and support services to clients before,during and after mammogram procedures, e.g. explaining procedures, answering inquiries, etc.Ensure operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance, useinstructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and maintaining equipmentinventories.Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor ormanager, including those related to quality assurance and/or controlResponsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positionOther duties as assignedCompetencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):Knowledge of techniques and procedures used in mammographic imaging, ability to produce images ofinternal body structures for diagnosis and early detection of breast diseases in women.Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and to monitor patients'reactions during and after a procedure. Responds to emergent situations by applying appropriatemeasures.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Education:Graduate of a recognized School of Radiology Sciences. Mammography Technologists initially qualifyingon or after April 28, 1999 must meet the Mammo-Specific requirements by having at least 40 hours ofdocumented training in Mammography. Documented training in Digital Mammography. OROn the job training program agreement requirement: 3 months competency and didactic programcompletion from hire. Additional 5 months to attain (M) certificationANDExperience:6 months to 1 year experience preferredMinimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationARRT certification in radiography, ARRT advanced certification in Mammography, FDA/MQSA qualified toinclude meeting the MQSA CE requirements of at least 15 CEU’s in a 36 month period that areMammography specific preferred. (M) Registry eligible 6 months to attain (M) certificationObtain IV certification as necessary and administer contrast agent as requiredAdditional InformationMay require travel between Jefferson sitesSalary Range$33.52 to $47.78The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications.
