We have enabled our Government and Commercial clients to achieve their organizational initiatives through the application of high quality, innovative, and cost-effective professional services and solutions.Spectra Tech, LLC, is currently looking for a Logistics Driver to work on a government project at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, MD.This position is full-time and onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).  ResponsibilitiesTransports passengers throughout the installation and on public roadsPrepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of passengers to ensure timely and accurate transportationMust wear pager and/or carry cellular phone (will be provided by Government)Assure overall appearance, maintenance, and condition of vehicle is in good working order for transporting high ranking officials and passengersAssures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) of vehicle to be loaded (no overhangs, no vision  obstacles)Completes trip tickets by annotating daily utilization and preventive maintenance service records (check/completes the daily operation inspection list on the back of the trip ticket)Completes driver's accident report if vehicle is involved in an accidentPerforms review of operation inspection checklist and notifiesGovernment POC of any discrepanciesDrives both commercial and Government-owned automobiles, vans, or trucks for short and long distancesMust be flexible with work schedule and willing to work until all assignments are completeMust have excellent customer service skills for dealing with general public and high-ranking officialsProvides on-the-job training to other contractor personnelTransports equipment throughout the installation and on public roads. Some loads may contain hazardous materialRequired QualificationsU.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret ClearancePossession of a valid Class A, B, or C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements that may include air brakes, passenger and/or hazardous materials, depending on the customer and the requirements for the positionMust have a clean driving record (no DWI, DUI, or major violations to include accidents within the past eighteen (18) months)Requires ten (10) years of driving experienceMust become familiar with ARL facilities and restricted areasMust become familiar with access gates and roads in and around Aberdeen Proving GroundMust be appropriately dressed when transporting or escorting officials in a clean and neat business appearancePhysical RequirementsAbility to follow and adhere to all physical CDL and DOT Requirements Frequently lifting and carrying light-to-heavy weight objects (10 to 50 pounds) and continually walking, bending, stooping and reachingAbility to push loaded carts, store and issue items in crowded quarters while handling some awkward, hard to handle itemsProlonged periods sitting, standing, and walkingSee details of objects that are more than a few feet awayUse fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objectsMake fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wristsSee differences between colors, shades, and brightnessHold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the armUse one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objectsWe are an Equal Employment/Affirmative Action employer.
