Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing technical interfaces, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Working closely with project managers, clients, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will provide practical technical leadership and support effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.


Key responsibilities will include developing and reviewing engineering designs, specifications, calculations, work packages, method statements, and technical reports. You will monitor progress against agreed milestones, identify risks and opportunities, resolve technical issues, and support the management of change, cost, quality, and programme requirements. You will also coordinate design reviews, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and internal procedures, and contribute to procurement, tender evaluations, construction planning, testing, commissioning, and project close-out. The role may include mentoring engineers and reviewing the work of team members to maintain high technical and professional standards.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline and have substantial experience delivering engineering projects in a relevant industry. Professional registration or progress towards professional accreditation would be advantageous. You will need a strong understanding of project engineering principles, contract requirements, risk management, quality assurance, and health and safety practices. Excellent communication, organisation, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience with engineering software, document control systems, and project management tools would be beneficial. A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement are expected.
