Join a fast-paced, high-acuity Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a nationally recognized cardiac center of excellence. This 30-bed intermediate care unit specializes in caring for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, offering travelers exposure to advanced procedures and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Unit Highlights:

• 30-bed Cardiac PCU
• Approximately 65 staff members
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4 , occasionally 1:5
• Collaborative environment with experienced RNs, PCTs, and supportive leadership
• Fast-paced setting ideal for clinicians with strong cardiac and progressive care backgrounds

Staffing Structure

Day Shift

• 1 Charge RN
• 5-8 RNs
• 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

Night Shift

• 1 Charge RN
• 5-8 RNs
• 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

Equipment & Technology

Experience with the following equipment is preferred:

• Telemetry and transport monitors
• Suction equipment
• Feeding pumps
• Tracheostomy care
• BiPAP and CPAP
• Heated High-Flow Oxygen
• Chest tubes
• Foley catheters
• Temporary pacer wires and pacemakers
• IV pumps
• Sequential Compression Device (SCD) pumps

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PCU hospital experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification

Preferred Skills & Experience

Candidates with the following experience will receive priority consideration:

• Chest tube management and removal
• Temporary pacer wire removal
• 12-Lead EKG interpretation
• Advanced oxygen therapy management, including:
  • BiPAP
  • Heated High-Flow Oxygen
• Management of cardiac drips, including:
  • Heparin
  • Diltiazem
  • Amiodarone
  • Lasix
  • Dobutamine
  • Milrinone
  • Ketamine
