High School Cafeteria Manager

Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm

DEFINITION OF POSITION Under direction of the Food Service Director, to oversee and direct the day to day operation of the High School cafeteria and its employees; to prepare, cook and serve meals and do related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Estimates meal counts and prepares shipment/production records for satellite schools on breakfast/lunch programs
• Plans, assigns, supervises and performs work in the preparation, transporting and serving of meals
• Works from monthly prepared menus
• Requisitions foodstuff and supplies
• Supervises and personally performs cleaning of kitchen, kitchen equipment, hot/cold carts, dirty dishes and utensils
• Receives, balances and records daily cash
• Receives and balances in/out inventory sales sheets
• Travels one day per week to school sites to refill vending machine and pull money
• Responsible for ordering and receiving all vending products
• Verifies delivery invoice with deliveries
• Makes oral and written reports regarding operational problems, sanitation inspections, safety concerns and related injuries
• Outlines daily duties and work schedules of kitchen staff as needed
• Assists in arranging proper storage of food and supplies
• Sets standards of efficiency related to production
• Insures proper sanitation procedures are followed relating to food preparation, serving and storage
• Assists and instructs new personnel in methods of procedure and safety
• Organizes, trains and directs staff in all aspects of catering
• Be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Be able to reach storage areas at heights of 6 feet
• Take a physical inventory at each months end
• Directly supervises cafeteria assistants
