Senior Credit Analyst

This position is responsible for analysis and monitoring the financial condition and credit worthiness of individuals and businesses applying for credit by using historical financial analysis and cash flow projections.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Analyzing all relevant loan data on new, renewal and existing loans
• Preparing thorough and concise memos, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Loan Officers
• Managing the bank's exposure to identified risks and recommending appropriate structure for transactions
• Overseeing and managing financial information files
• Establishing, reviewing and updating new and existing loan files
• Providing technical advice and assistance to Loan Officers
• Performing credit inquiries

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

• Effectively communicating with customers, loan officers, and bank management
• Generating solutions to problems and suggesting alternative solutions when necessary
• Performing as a top contributor in bank-wide projects
• Initiating and leading bank-wide projects
• Focusing on memos for relationships ranging from $2,000,000 and greater
• Delivering the bank's top volumes in loan activity through new originations or management of the existing portfolio
• Creating and maintaining solid working relationships with loan officers and other team members
• Assisting in the training and development of credit analyst I & II
• Adhering to all company policies, core values and procedures
• Demonstrating a genuine interest in learning and working in the banking profession
• Dressing professionally

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• Education and work experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field. Minimum 5 years of credit analysis experience. Possesses specific area of underwriting expertise in one or more areas of lending (e.g. CRE or C&I underwriting).
• Technical/functional competencies: Excellent financial analytical abilities, with knowledge of financial ratios. Advanced proficiency in Excel. Ability to structure and underwrite larger, more complex transactions. Outstanding interpersonal, technical, problem solving, and written communication skills needed for preparation of credit memos and analysis of financial statements. Demonstrates initiative, judgment/discernment and self motivation to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrates resourcefulness and concern for quality by understanding systems and processes and suggesting changes when necessary to increase overall efficiency. Demonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to time lines and schedules.
