Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ academic and personal development in two vibrant elementary school settings. This full-time, contract opportunity offers a chance to work closely with students, staff, and families to foster a positive, inclusive school environment. This role is based onsite and will split responsibilities between LaPlace Elementary and Garyville Elementary, ensuring every child has access to the counseling resources they need from now through late May 2027.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in School Counseling required
• Active School Counselor Certificate
• Preferred: At least three years of successful teaching experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Flexibility to adapt to the unique needs of two school communities
• Passion for student advocacy and school-wide well-being

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, social, and emotional counseling to a diverse caseload of elementary students
• Develop individual and group interventions to address barriers to success
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive, effective action plans
• Implement and track progress of student support services
• Maintain confidential records and monitor students’ progress
• Participate in school meetings, IEPs, and family conferences as needed
• Engage in professional development to stay current on best practices in counseling
