Capitola Surgery Center (CSC) Full-Time, Salary-Exempt

The Clinical Director is a key member of the CSC leadership team and is responsible for providing clinical leadership, operational oversight, and team development across our perioperative services. This role is ideal for a nurse leader who is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture, developing others, improving processes, and ensuring every patient receives safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Position Responsibilities

The Clinical Director will:

• Provide leadership, direction, and support to clinical teams, including Operating Room, PACU, and perioperative services
• Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Partner with physicians, administrative leadership, and department leaders to support safe and efficient patient care
• Develop, mentor, and empower nurses and clinical team members through coaching, education, and professional growth opportunities
• Oversee clinical operations to ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, state regulations, and organizational standards
• Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice
• Assist with resource management and operational planning
• Encourage employee engagement and retention through meaningful leadership and communication

Serve as a visible and approachable leader who builds trust and strong relationships throughout the organization

Qualifications

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a supervisory or management role
• Recent and demonstrated experience in both:
• Operating Room (OR) nursing
• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing
• Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center or perioperative environment strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of surgical workflows, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
