Service Porter / Valet

The Service Porter/Valet is responsible for providing a welcoming and professional first and last impression for customers visiting the dealership’s service department. This position greets customers, assists with vehicle drop-off and pick-up, parks and retrieves customer vehicles, moves vehicles throughout the dealership, and helps maintain an organized and clean service drive and parking areas.

The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable working around and driving a variety of vehicles. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude is essential.

• Greet customers promptly and professionally as they arrive at the service drive.
• Assist customers with vehicle drop-off and pick-up, including valet services as needed.
• Safely move, park, and retrieve customer vehicles throughout the dealership and designated parking areas.
• Drive vehicles to and from the service drive, service stalls, parking lots, and other designated areas as needed.
• Properly tag and identify customer vehicles to ensure accurate vehicle tracking and prevent duplicate tags.
• Retrieve customer vehicles promptly when service is complete or when requested by the service team.
• Ensure customer vehicles are parked in the appropriate designated areas and that the service parking area remains organized.
• Create and maintain key tags for service vehicles.
• Ensure appropriate floor coverings and other protective materials are properly placed in vehicles before service work begins.
• Assist with maintaining the service drive, parking areas, and customer-facing areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Replenish customer water bottles and replace water cooler jugs as needed.
• Empty trash and perform general cleaning and upkeep of the service drive and surrounding areas.
• Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including salting, snow removal, sweeping, and leaf blowing, as needed.
• Assist management and other dealership departments with vehicle-related or general operational tasks as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive customer experience with the goal of encouraging customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Work cooperatively with the service department, sales team, and other dealership personnel.
• Follow all dealership safety policies, procedures, and vehicle-handling guidelines.
• Maintain punctual and reliable attendance and be ready to work at the scheduled start time.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Patrick Motor Group dress code, including required branded shirts/jackets and appropriate work pants.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record.
• Previous customer service, automotive, dealership, valet, or similar experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a variety of vehicles.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle preferred/required based on dealership needs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

Employee must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time. Use their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements for over 8 hours a day. Occasionally need to lift items up to 30 lbs. Occasional bending, walking, and mobility will be necessary. Employee must be able to get in and out of vehicles and shovel/ assist with snow removal when necessary. Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop/bend, and reach is required. Employee must be able to speak clearly for repetitiously for over 8 hours a day.
