Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational approaches.
- Create customized treatment strategies targeting both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy that addresses language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to develop seamless care approaches.
- Educate patients and families to foster progress and carry therapeutic strategies into their daily lives.
- Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress meticulously in adherence to state regulations and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuing professional development through education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all age groups, with expertise in developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, families, and clinical teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy strategies to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving competencies.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and proficiency in documentation requirements.
