FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Title FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER Location Hendrick Medical Center – 1900 Pine Street, Abilene, TX 79601 Schedule Full‑time and part‑time schedules. Days and hours may vary with rotating weekends. Pay Range $15.00 to $16.50 per hour Job Summary Perform cashiering duties and general food service work while maintaining sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep work: washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, trays, and food between workstations, stove, and refrigerator according to safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food‑safety rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner. Relate relevant information to supervisors. Perform sales transactions, enter sales into the cash register, make change, accept card payments, and issue receipts. Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds. Manage change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications No previous experience required. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Knowledge of food sanitation and safety procedures preferred.
