Lead Virtual Platform Infrastructure Engineer

About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Virtual Platform Infrastructure Engineer with deep cross-domain experience in enterprise‑class virtualization platforms, server engineering, and on‑premises hosting services.This position will drive key initiatives that support advancing platform design, automation, and modernization across hosting services within Broadcom/VMware and OpenShift Virtualization platform within the environment. These efforts streamline platform lifecycle management, performance/capacity, VM provisioning services, infrastructure delivery, strengthen compliance, and improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of systems across the enterprise.In this role, you will:Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applicationsParticipate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructureEvaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goalsReview and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the futureDesign, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third-party vendorsDesign, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practicesMake decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirementsDirect the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure successRecommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve resultsCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goalsInteract with customer and vendorRequired Qualifications:5+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience5+ years of Distributed Infrastructure and/or related IT Infrastructure experience5+ years of experience working with products related to the Automation of Virtualization, Server Infrastructure, Converged/Hyper-Converged hostingDesired Qualifications:Experience with Hypervisors: VMware and Red Hat OpenShift VirtualizationExperience with software defined networks and load balancers: NSX, AVIExperience with Kubernetes or OpenShift container platformsScripting and/or automation experience: Python, Ansible, PowerShellOperating Systems Knowledge: Windows, LinuxExperience leading or supporting the design, evaluation, and implementation of complex infrastructure hosting solutions and capabilitiesExperience working in agile product teams in a highly regulated financial services industryExperience with converged and/or hyper-converged infrastructure solutions at-scale in a large enterpriseExperience with virtualization and virtual hosting technologies and administrationExperience mentoring high-performing engineersExperience with taking software/hardware products and services from inception to customer deliveryProven experience transforming to and/or managing infrastructure functions in a product model construct, which would include participation in product roadmap planning and feature/backlog prioritizationSkilled in automation to include familiarity with VMWare Aria/VRA, OpenShift Virtualization, Ansible, and other similar productsExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code delivery and managementFamiliarity with Cloud hosting concepts and operating modelsExpert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineeringAbility to help remediate tough technical support issuesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of team on multiple overlapping projectsAbility to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organizationCustomer focused, service-oriented attitude.Job Expectations:Ability to work additional hours as neededThis position offers a hybrid work scheduleThis position is not eligible for Visa sponsorshipRelocation assistance in not availableTelecommuting is not an optionLocations:401 Las Colinas Blvd W, Irving, TX300 South Brevard, Charlotte, NCPosting End Date: 30 Aug 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
