Procedural Technologist I - Heart and Vascular - $2,500 Sign-On Bonus!

Job Summary

The Procedural Technologistperforms a variety of technical, diagnostic,therapeuticand patient care tasks for patients with cardiovascular disease using radiological and cardiovascular sciences. The Technologistassistscredentialed care providersin performing diagnostic and interventional proceduresin a range of settings including the CathLab, Interventional Radiology Lab, and Vascular Lab.

Responsibilities And Scope

Assistsphysicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of heart, peripheralvesselsand any other required structures.

Ensures room is preparedand stockedfor the upcoming procedure. Sets up and prepares suite for upcoming procedures, including sterile trays, catheters, wires,contrastand other supplies needed as guided by the physician.Assistswith routine inventory management tasks.

Verifies patient identification.Interviews patients to collect and documentpriormedical history.

Guides patients, some distressed, through their examination,applyingsubject matterexpertiseand culturalcompetencyto explain the exam.Setsexpectations and calmspatientfor effective imaging.

Selectsappropriate scanningprotocols and imaging parameters using extensive knowledge of human anatomyand pathology.

Inputs and organizes patient information and diagnostic images in both primary electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) system andPicture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

Performs dailyquality checksfor procedural areas.Practicesand ensuresradiation safetyperdocumented protocol.Promotes a safe,cleanand secure hospital environment for all, including the application of standard precautions and principles of infection control.

Qualifications

Hired candidates are expected to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification afterhire. Training and assessment opportunities will be provided.

Required

Completion of an accredited educational programin health science, includingbut not limitedto:cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy,nursingor paramedic/EMT.

Basic Life Support (BLS)certification.

The role includes on-call responsibilities and requires the employee to arrive on-site within a 30-minute response window.

Preferred

Successfulcompletion ofEKG/ Arrhythmia course.

Experience working with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)such as SYNAPSE or SECTRA

Experience working withelectronic medical recordkeeping (EMR)systemsuch as EPIC.
