Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary And Qualifications As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit, you will coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients. You will conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family, develop an individualized patient care plan, provide family-centered patient teaching, identify and correct variances from the patient care plan, and facilitate discharge planning and teaching. Complete an admission interview upon patient arrival and document the patient assessment Identify changes in the patient’s condition and promptly report the changes to the physician or charge nurse Assess and document patient educational needs and provide instructions upon admission and throughout hospitalization Provide psychological and social support to the patient and family Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning Accurately administer and document medications Keep the physician and/or Clinical Nurse Coordinator informed of significant information or changes related to the patient and family Continuously evaluate the plan of care to determine need for modifications Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care and document patient responses to interventions Job Requirements Experience 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Education Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred Licenses and Certifications Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required Benefits Comprehensive benefits for medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health and telemedicine services Wellbeing support, including free counseling and referral services Paid time off, paid family leave, long‑ and short‑term disability coverage and leaves of absence 401(k) Plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of pay, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, flexible spending accounts, preferred banking partnerships, retirement readiness tools, rollover support and financial wellbeing counseling Tuition assistance, student loan assistance, certification support, dependent scholarships and partnership with Galen College of Nursing Additional benefits for fertility and family building, adoption assistance, life insurance, supplemental health protection plans, auto and home insurance, legal counseling, identity theft protection and consumer discounts Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location.
