DevOps Engineer

In this role, you’ll design and support modern DevOps and cloud solutions that power mission‑critical intelligence systems. You’ll focus on automation, reliability, and scalability—while we focus on investing in your growth. As part of our Common Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, you’ll help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by supporting an Intelligence Community customer in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment. What You’ll Do As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to designing, automating, and maintaining secure, scalable platform services across on‑prem and cloud environments. Automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of platform services Architect, build, and support on‑prem and cloud infrastructure Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve reliability and deployment speed Administer production, staging, and development environments Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization Manage centralized logging and monitor for security and system events Improve system monitoring while ensuring compliance with security standards Apply configuration management best practices (patching, hardening, documentation) Enforce security and reliability best practices, including access controls and vulnerability testing Partner with A&A and security teams to maintain authorization and compliance requirements Participate in operational readiness reviews and present system readiness updates Support Agile (SAFe/Scrum) development teams and ceremonies Provide on‑call support as required What You’ll Bring Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or any related field/major 5+ years of experience Proficiency with Linux Ability to manage networking for web application by understanding TCP/IP and DNS Hands‑on experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift, with ideal knowledge of AWS Experience creating and modifying Helm Charts and configuring deployments to multi‑environments (e.g., dev, stage, prod) across multiple security domains Experience with Infrastructure as Code (one or more of Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines; (knowledge of Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar) Knowledge of containerization, monitoring and logging, and network & security Experience deploying and managing databases, interacting with databases via SQL and ORMs Experience monitoring and updating tokens Comfortable using Python and BASH to create systems tooling Ability to contribute code updates/tweaks to existing code repositories Experience with integrating security components with applications and databases Nice to Have Experience with software system design, able to create application architecture for new applications Familiarity with Configuration Management and Request for Change process for review and assessment Experience with delivery of an integrated solution using Agile software delivery techniques Technical certification: Network+, Security+, Oracle or specializing in Software Development, or Cloud Computing Experience in System Engineering and project/program management Knowledge and/or experience with NGA enterprise products (including NGA CORE tools; e.g., Wormhole) Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $165‑175k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above‑stated range.
