Event Manager

Restaurant Associates

Job Summary As an Event Manager , you will support the Catering Department across all functions, overseeing event execution from load‑in to load‑out, managing vendor relationships, supervising event setups, and directing temporary and support staff. You will ensure exceptional service delivery during events, maintaining high standards for setup, service, cleaning, and breakdown procedures. Administrative duties include preparing BEOs, managing contracts, and maintaining CRM systems for seamless planning and execution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise all catering events. Coordinate event operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility activities. Work with the Chef to create menus. Train catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service. Track and monitor labor and food cost for each event. Communicate across all levels—management, client, customer, and associates—to maintain excellent client relationships. Assist with all food‑service related activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of food‑service experience, including 1 year in a management role. Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health‑care, or related operations. Required catering experience. Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food‑cost control, and presentation. Financial, budgeting, accounting, and computational skills. Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet usage. Experience with CRM systems. ServSafe certification.
