HOURS: Mainly M-F dayshift with call, rotating holiday and weekends. Occasional coverage at Giles Hospital. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.The Nuclear Medicine Technologist* Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results.* Administers diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion.* Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures, correlating patient history with test to be performed.* May assist with scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing for patients.* Evaluates, prepares and observes patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.* Interacts with other staff, patients, physicians, families, family members/visitors, management, ancillary departments and general public.* Interacts with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.* Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to age and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.* Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.* Enhances personal and professional growth through participating in educational opportunities.# **What We Require:****Education**: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent. **Experience**: Experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred. **Licensure/Certification**: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by NMTCB or ARRT. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. **Other minimum qualifications**: Must apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. Must have knowledge of radiopharmacy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Maintains Nuclear Medicine certification.
