Supervisory Attorney Advisor (National Security) (Assistant Division Chief)

This position is in the Spectrum Policy Branch, Policy and Rules Division (Division), Office of Engineering and Technology (OET or Office), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. Education You must meet the minimum basic educational requirements for Attorney positions. Education requirements include: a professional law degree JD, LL.B., and/or LL.M. Specialized Experience For the GS-15 position: Applicant must possess at least four years of professional law experience and at least one year of that experience must be specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following: Experience leading, supervising or managing Attorney staff. Experience applying policy and legal expertise to the full range of policies and operations on spectrum management related matters. Experience performing analysis and evaluation on complex policy issues affecting communications industry segments. Experience providing expert advice to senior leaders on legal matters related to spectrum management policy, Equipment Authorization, supply chain, and/or national security issues. Experience serving as an expert advisor on complex policy issues concerning regulation of the telecommunications industry such as the Internet, telecommunications and/or media issues such as broadband, wireless spectrum policy, Internet governance, privacy and/or cyber-security and/or media ownership. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
