Maintenance Technician - FULL TIME

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in carrying out the maintenance processes of the property, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the make-ready process in a manner consistent with the property’s operational objectives under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Perform all general maintenance, repair and general upkeep of NAC facilities and equipment. Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase materials at low cost, and obtain bids when necessary. Maintain inventory on all tools and supplies. Complete assigned maintenance requests within the time frame set by Director – usually 48 hours. Stay current on all applicable building codes and safety standards. Will be on-call on a rotation basis and respond to on-call emergencies.

~ EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

~ High school diploma or GED required One (1) year of experience in appliance repair At least one (1) year of experience in apartment and/or general maintenance Demonstrated skill in electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry repair and building maintenance and repairs Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, and customer service skills. MS Office proficiency Operate in an outdoor or maintenance shop environment Preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians according to the Indian Preference Hiring Act, CFR 25 USC 472.
