Sr. Data Engineer

As the Sr. Data Engineer, you will join a team as they begin reshaping and redesigning the entire data ecosystem across the enterprise. Experience creating data engineering pipelines and ingesting data with strong programming/coding skills (Python and SQL; including hands-on experience building data pipelines with SQL) is required.

Day to Day:

• Create data pipelines by leveraging Google Cloud (GCP) to create automated pipelines to and from different environments, create repeatable processes that fuel analytics products and business decisions, and design/implement data processes to enrich and leverage data landed in GCP.
• Design data products by utilizing GCP to create new and business-relevant data products from existing data, build repeatable processes to create data endpoints that fuel reports, analytics and BI platforms.
• Lead data initiatives by running efforts to reshape and redesign entire data ecosystems across the enterprise, act as a point of view owner and key stakeholders for data-driven initiatives and work with product managers, data engineers, and business analytics to roadmap, plan, and deliver on key data-driven efforts.
• Create the future of data by designing and implementing processes using the entire toolset within GCP to shape the future of data at Driven Brands. Lead by example by leveraging previous experience to redesign data systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering including relevant experience working with Google Cloud or on-premises data solutions: creating/supporting ETLs, database administration, data modeling, business partnerships, and teamwork.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working in cloud computing.
• Experience building, maintaining, and enhancing automation platforms with Apache Airflow.
• Ability to understand the interaction between data flows and business processes.
• Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases including data modeling and data structures.
• Experience translating business requirements to technical requirements.
• Experience with data migration to cloud-native and Big Data environment environments.
• Deep understanding of data warehouse, data cloud architecture, building data pipelines, and orchestration.
• Excellent Python and SQL skills (including hands-on experience building data pipelines with SQL).
• Experience in agile methodology is preferred.
• Strong self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet multiple deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great attention to details.
• Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, AWS Specialty Data Analytics or GCP Professional Data Engineer.
• Online courses: Databricks, Spark, Advanced Python, DevOps, Agile.
