CNC Machinist II

Location: Ogden, UT Schedule: Monday-Friday | 1:00 PM-9:30 PM Pay: $28.00-$33.00/hour DOE + Shift Differential Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Overtime: Available Join a Team That Values Quality, Craftsmanship & Technical Expertise Smart Resources is hiring an experienced Machinist II for a well-established manufacturing company in Ogden, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision work, enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, and is comfortable performing machine setups, interpreting blueprints, and producing high-quality components to exact specifications. You'll work with CNC equipment including Haas, Okuma, and Cincinnati machines in a manufacturing environment where quality, safety, and technical expertise are highly valued. What You'll Do Responsibilities include: Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and related machining equipment Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions Make machine adjustments and process corrections to maintain required tolerances Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining and production issues Perform routine preventative maintenance and support equipment maintenance initiatives Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Support continuous improvement efforts Assist with training and supporting less experienced team members Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes and product performance What We're Looking For We're looking for a machinist who enjoys technical work, takes ownership of quality, and brings strong attention to detail. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment Strong blueprint-reading and dimensional inspection skills Experience using precision measuring instruments Ability to perform machine setups and make machining adjustments Understanding of shop mathematics, tolerances, and machining principles Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team Strong commitment to safety and quality Effective verbal and written communication skills Why This Opportunity?
