Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer Location: El Segundo, CA (full‑time on‑site) What You’ll Be Doing Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal R&D projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies Participate in development of data analysis and post‑processing tools Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities What You’ll Need to be Successful – Member of Technical Staff Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation. Applied research in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills. Experience in software development in Python or C/C++. Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports. Willing to travel, as needed (up to 10%). Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. Minimum Requirements for Senior Member of Technical Staff Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation. How You Can Stand Out Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related discipline from an accredited university. Familiarity with network testbed development and/or experience with network emulation/simulation. Knowledge of inter-satellite cross-links and laser optical communication technologies. Relevant experience with military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering. Possess a current and active U.S. Government Security Clearance – Top Secret level. We offer a competitive compensation package: $95,200.00 - $165,500.00 (annual pay basis). Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including education, experience, knowledge and skills.
